Dear Friends in Christ,

Welcome to Children’s ministry here at Christ Church Parish, Kent Island and Living Water Lutheran.  It is an honor for me to be serving here in our Children’s ministry and working with your children every Sunday.  With today’s culture constantly changing, we have new resources and capabilities available for us to reach and engage students in a variety of ways.   Due to these constant changes, a leadership team of dedicated volunteers came together to rethink our vision for our youth and family ministry to implement these ideas without losing sight of the traditions of our church. We are excited to share with you a new vision for our youth and family ministry, building on the great foundation that Christ Church has already established for our youth.

Collaboratively, the mission and vision team used the THINK ORANGE strategy, developed by Reggie Joiner, to design a new mission statement for our youth ministry. Our end goal is to “raise people up to GROW in faith, LIVE faithfully, and SHARE faith”. Our vision is to take the two major influences in a kid’s life, the light of the church and the love of family, and create a partnership with church and family. The combined strength of the two – red and yellow – creates the brilliance of another – orange.  In synchronizing the efforts of the church and the family we will fuel faith in our youth more effectively than either could do alone.
